Vulnerable Sector Check (Nepean Knights Lacrosse Association)

PrintVulnerable Sector Check
The Ontario Lacrosse Association requires that all volunteers who work with minors in the lacrosse clubs must have a completed Level 3 Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) on file with their local club. A VSC is a point-in-query against police databases to ensure there's nothing within a volunteer's background that may suggest risk to minors. These are performed by Ottawa Police Services (or Ontario Provincial Police if outside city limits) and obtained for a small cost. Their policy is to perform the service free of charge for volunteer organizations, such as Nepean Knights Minor Lacrosse Association (NKMLA). In order to prove an individual's association with the NKMLA, a Volunteer letter is provided from the association by the Registrar/Privacy Officer.
New Volunteer - If you are a new volunteer or require an updated VSC, please complete the following form to request a Volunteer Letter.
Returning volunteer – If you previously submitted your VSC for the 2023 or 2024 season, you will need to complete an OLA Offense Declaration for the 2025 season. As long your volunteer service with NKMLA is consecutive and not interrupted (to a maximum of 3 years).
Valid Criminal Record Check - If you have been issued a VSC within the past 6 months, it may also be used for the 2025 season.
Please send a copy to the Registrar/Privacy Officer: [email protected] where it will be safely secured and your date of issue will be tracked in Sportzsoft. This information is then recorded with Ontario Lacrosse Association to ensure compliance.
For any questions, please direct them to the Registrar/Privacy Officer @ [email protected].
